Eli is 1 month and the kids go back to school

All the kids returned to school this week... thank goodness! I was so tired of hearing "I'm bored" and "Can I play the Wii?"

Noah and Sasha are starting at Scott School... Noah in 1st grade and Sasha in 3rd.

Haley and David started at Straub - David as a 6th grader and Haley as top-dog in 8th grade.

And Elijah celebrated 1 month old with some great photos... I think he is getting the hang of the photo thing!

I cannot wait for the other 4 kids' back to school photos. Should have those by the end of the month :)

Remember the time...

Our family plays a game called "Remember The Time" and it goes something like this;

    Noah: "Remember the time when we were getting ready to leave the house and the cat fell on me? That was funny"

The whole story is the 6 of us were getting ready to walk out the front door of our old townhouse. The entry lead right into stairs with vaulted ceilings to the upstairs hallway which had a half wall railing. Batcat used to love to sit there and watch people go in and out, and with 4 kids during the summer it happened often.

Well she was settled into her perch and watching us like any other day when a very funny turn of events happened. I can imagine her sitting up there, staring at us with a certain amount of disdain, her head over the edge. I picture her leaning a bit to catch a better view of us and losing her balance just a tad... and it was all downhill from there. Literally. Next thing we all know Noah and Batcat are on the floor; Noah is stunned, unsure why he is on the floor, and Batcat just looks pist.

Either that or she was up there, saw Noah and decided "CANNON BALL!!"

Whatever the reason it took a few minutes before we all fully understood what had happened... it rained a cat! And it took a few more hours before Noah could laugh about it. And now it lives in infamy as one of the "Remember the Times".

Noah, 2008

So what's the point in this blast from the past story? Well, the other night Haley was holding Elijah at the dinner table so Adam and I could eat our dinners while still warm. Haley was feeding Eli and the rest of us were engaged in conversation. All of a sudden Elijah lets out the motherload of all farts and the kids start laughing. Hell, Adam and I were laughing, too. Eli didn't care, he continued to eat. After a couple minutes we all regained our composure.

And Noah belts out, "Remember the time when we were all at the table and Elijah farted?"

Another one for our list.
